I've had this pack forEVER...maybe 10 years. It's the best. It may last another 10 years. Enough said.
I will never hike in boots if I don't need to (winter hiking) ever again. I've been hiking in trail runners for a few years and my feet and much more comfortable than in boots. These Salomons have been my favorite. This is my third pair. The other two I own are non-GoreTex, but I figure with the amount of snow, streams, and rivers we will encounter on this trip, I'm going to need a little waterproofness.
Awesome bag. And by awesome, I mean less than 2 pounds, and compresses to the size of softball awesome. It's not the warmest, I was a little cold around 30 degrees with only t-shirt and underwear on, but once I put on my long johns and socks, I was warm again. I figure I'll put on all my clothes if a freak 0 degree storm comes in and I should survive.

- pack: Osprey Aura 65
- boots: Asolo TPS 520 GV
Tried out the bag up at San Gorgonio when it was ~30 degrees. Loved it! I stayed super warm through the night and my feet weren't even cold... which is usually a chronic condition for me. They only problem is that it doesn't pack down that small.
- sleeping pad: Thermarest NeoAir
